Why is this the best BLT in the world?

In early 2016, a group of us had just won our league championship in Kentucky and were feeling pretty good about ourselves. High off our pride, we went to a tournament in Michigan, where we swiftly got our asses kicked.

Headed back south with our tails between ours legs, we decided to step it up a league, and the Fussy Puckers were born. We’re not the best team, but we go out of our way to enjoy everything that makes beer league special. Every game, win or lose, we’re drinking beers and tailgating in our rink’s parking lot. We’re looking to get better every time, whether it’s a 0-0 tie, a 3-1 win, or a 10-3 blowout, knowing we’re better off having had the opportunity to skate for an hour, drink a few beers, and spend some time with friends.

Simply put, we love hockey, but more importantly, we love hanging out with one another and making the most of our ice time.

Why we deserve to win the Westy?

Hockey in Kentucky isn’t easy. Our rinks are so-so, and the nearest pro-shop is around 2 hours away. Despite this, our group of players has gone out of its way to not only make the most of what’s available to us, but to enjoy some good company, cold brewskis, and overall development as players along the way.

    Thanks for the votes everyone,

I’m our team’s hockey hair representative. Every beer league needs the guy with the hockey hair. I may not have been lucky enough to have been part of the all hockey hair team, but I represent our beer league well. Playing hockey and drinking beer with these guys is the thing I look forward to most about each week, and we can’t do it for charity or on the road. Hell a couple of our guys ref just to pay for ice time, but that doesn’t stop us from best beer league team we know. We have a local bar / pizza place we go to after games that’s right across the railroad tracks. Yes, it’s Kentucky and we play at an ice rink next to rail road tracks.
We also grill out and tailgate in the parking lot. There’s a lot more to our beer league team than just skates and sticks on the ice.
